Whichever Seabourn itinerary you choose, prepare to enjoy Seabourn Moments, celebratory meals, and ultra-luxury aboard Seabourn’s purpose-built expedition ships.
Seabourn’s Favourite Moments in Antarctica this Year
As Seabourn Venture sailed southward in Antarctica toward Snow Hill Island, the Expedition Team made a remarkable first sighting of the season. Zodiacs® were deployed and we were provided with an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime experience to witness five-month-old emperor penguins.
Seabourn Pursuit made her inaugural ice landing, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. The day was filled with delight as we enjoyed the company of Adélie penguins and the excitement of spotting a rarely seen Ross seal.
Guests aboard Seabourn Venture were left in awe of the otherwordly scenery that greeted them in South Georgia. Wildlife sightings, including seals and penguins, at Hercules Bay, Grytviken, and Fortuna Bay only added to the magic.
The polar plunge is a moment that comes and goes quickly as we dive into the region’s crisp, sparkling waters. Guests return to the comfort and warmth of their Expedition ship with smiles that last all day.
While sailing through the Gerlache Strait, one of the most remote regions of the world, Seabourn Quest and Seabourn Pursuit shared neighborly waves as they gracefully passed each other during their journeys through Antarctica.
A Day Exploring the Falkland Islands
8:00 a.m. — We awoke this morning to the ship’s arrival at the Falkland Islands. There was an enchanting mist in the air, and we took in the breathtaking scenery from our veranda as we sipped our morning espresso. 1:00 p.m. — Led by our Expedition Guides, we kayaked this morning above dense kelp forests, so thick in some places that it seemed like you could walk on them! We spotted numerous species of geese, as well as black and white Magellanic oystercatchers. We also witnessed what looked like Commerson’s dolphins, speeding through the water not far off shore. 4:00 p.m. — These islands are a true birder’s paradise. On a long walk over rolling grassland, we reached the top of a cliff to find an impressive sight — hundreds of black-browed albatross nesting on the ground with their young chicks. Amongst the group, we also found groups of nesting charismatic rockhopper penguins! 6:00 p.m. — Back on board, we were still on a high from such a spectacular day. Our favourite bartender fixed us cocktails as we enjoyed Seabourn Conversations® led by our fabulous Expedition Team
