Cruise with Jann
I love exploring new areas as well as returning to places that I’ve really enjoyed.
For the past decade, I’ve embarked on annual cruises, accompanied by 10 to 20 of my clients.
Our travel style emphasizes individual exploration yet is enriched with camaraderie and over the years, many have formed lasting friendships.

Greenland is stunning; cruising & breaking through ice on Le Commandant Charcot is an incredible experience
and seeing polar bears on ice will always remain a top travel highlight for me.
Join Jann Porter to explore Northeast Greenland, an isolated and pristine territory in the heart of the Arctic ice.
One of the most remote parts of the Arctic, this region has very few settlements and the emphasis is on wilderness, sea ice, and wildlife.
At this time of year, the ice remains extensive, creating opportunities to observe polar bears, walruses, and possibly narwhals.
The scenery is vast, raw, and untouched—towering cliffs, immense glaciers, and ice-filled fjords;
the sense of exploration and isolation is unparalleled.
Explore Blosseville Coast, where the ice floe crystallises to form sharp peaks, as well as the region of Ittoqqortoormiit,
at the entrance to Scoresby Sound, the world’s largest network of fjords, where colourful villages stand out against the surrounding whiteness.
Sail among blue-tinged icebergs, and explore majestic glaciers and fjords from the ship, a kayak, Zodiac or by foot. Look out for polar bears
or the grace of a blue whale. This unforgettable adventure will reveal the unspoiled beauty of the Arctic, between grandiose landscapes and authentic encounters.
From €25 792 per person sharing, subject to availability as there is limited space available.
Outings and shore visits in a zodiac inflatable with a team of naturalist guides.
Activities include kayaking, hiking, snowshoeing, polar plunge and encounters with the local communities including dog-sleigh rides and ice fishing.
Lectures on board with passionate experts, specialists in the fauna, flora and history of the polar regions.
Each departure is unique. The itinerary, landings, wildlife encounters and activities are subject to weather and ice conditions.
Le Commandant Charcot has a guest capacity of 235
Discover new and unique experiences whilst enjoying unprecedented luxury and comfort.
This will be my 3rd cruise on Le Commandant Charcot;
it’s an indescribable experience and I do hope you can join me on this incredible voyage of discovery.

A refuge for the rarest wildlife and an endless ice desert, the Weddell Sea promises you intense emotions during a voyage of exploration aboard Le Commandant Charcot. Ice floes as far as the eye can see and gigantic tabular icebergs form the horizon of the colonies of Adelie penguins that populate this expanse.
The ultimate challenge of this exploration is the search for the emperor penguins. In this season, as the winter gradually makes way for the southern spring, you will perhaps witness a magical show – that of the largest penguins in the world waddling along the ice floe or the younger penguins learning to swim. It is rare to discover their elegance, so the encounter will be priceless.
During your exploration of the Weddell Sea, you will follow in the footsteps of the great polar epics like that of Sir Ernest Shackleton. Passionate naturalists will share the history of the gigantic tabular icebergs with you, including their birth in the heart of the immense Larsen Ice Shelf. The ice here boasts all possible shades and the white takes different forms in the surrounding reliefs.
It’s a challenge and a privilege to sail the Weddell Sea; welcome to an extraordinary universe with compelling appeal.
Visit Baffin Island (Nunavut) and Nunatsiavut (Labrador), as well as Newfoundland. Islands of Lady Franklin, Monumental, Lower Savage, and Resolution to look for wildlife from the Zodiacs. Thriving Inuit culture (Pangnirtung and Nain), history of remote Moravian missionaries and missions (Nain and Hebron), a 19th century whaling station (Kekerten Island), 19th and early 20th century Labrador fishing villages that are still thriving today (Battle Harbour), the remains of a rural medical mission (Indian Harbour), and the first Viking settlement in North America (L’Anse aux Meadows).
There is also the overlap of polar and black bear populations which is quite unique, seals, and maybe even some of the last birds migrating south from the Arctic summer. One of the other major highlights is the Torngat Mountains National Park, an incredibly remote section of the very top of Labrador and spectacular, with a beautiful fjord system and great wildlife opportunities.
