Discover new and hidden gems in the South Pacific, home to some of the least-travelled islands and atolls in the world, rich with varied culture and incredible biodiversity above and below the water. Tucked along the northwestern corner of Australia, the Kimberley is one of the world’s last wild frontiers, from rugged sandstone peaks and gushing waterfalls, to desert expanses, sunken mangrove forests, and everything in between. In either destination, visit incredible local communities that are open to sharing their traditions and homes amid life in the most remote regions on Earth.
7:00 a.m. — We started our day with an enjoyable and scrumptious breakfast on the veranda overlooking the glistening sea and the sound of waves softly lapping against the ship in one of the most remote places in the world.
12:00 p.m. — What a thrill! We spent the morning on a Zodiacs® tour lead by our Expedition team, exploring the mangrove forests of
the Hunter River. Kingfishers darted amongst the roots of these fascinating plants.
4:00 p.m. — So many birds, I couldn’t keep count. A white-bellied sea eagle was one of our favourites — I can’t believe it came so close to our Zodiac! We spent a long while cruising past herds of crocodiles, sunning on the shores. They seemed so lazy!
6:00 p.m. — Back on our ship, we were ready for a glass of wine and comparing our stories about our day exploring the wilds of the Kimberley.
